GUITARS

My main guitar for the last couple of years or so has been a 1980 Ibanez AS200 – a really well made, versatile workhorse. It is stock apart from the pickups (Seymour Duncan 59’s front and back) and the tuners (Gotoh’s). I also just bought a Squier Telecaster for about 300 Aussie dollars and I LOVE IT.

For those who are interested, between the years 2004-2005 I used a Gibson ES-333 for most of my gigs (it’s the guitar on KABOOM!). From 2000-2004 I used a custom made Telecaster by Jeff Mallia – a really fabulous instrument (check out www.mallia.com.au). Between 1996 and 2000 I used a Steinberger GL series guitar which was loaned to me by Chad Wackerman.

STRINGS

Elixir 11-49’s. Elixir strings have changed my life. I say that and I’m not even sponsored by them.

AMPLIFIERS

My main amp for the last 10 years or so has been a RIVERA “Jake” 55W combo.

I have just acquired a CUSTOM AUDIO OD-100 head which sounds absolutely A-mazing!! I think we’ll be seeing a lot of him around. I use it with a Ledford 2×12 cabinet loaded with Scumback speakers (H55/H75).

I also own a Vox AC-30 and AC-15.

SET UP

At the very least my pedal box includes an:

I will also often add a:
